Knox® Box Rapid Entry System Program

The Rainsville Fire Department is one of more than 11,500 fire departments in North America that use Knox® key box systems to help protect and preserve life and property.

How it works:

Fire fighters often arrive on the scene several minutes before the owner, manager or other key holder. Property damage is greatly reduced when fire fighters do not have to force there way into a burning facility.

With the Knox® Box Rapid Entry System, keys to the protected commercial or residential property are stored in a heavy-duty, high-security outdoor lock box. Each Knox® Box purchased by the property owner is keyed to a single master key controlled by the local fire department. Access cards and floor plans may also be stored there. If the fire department needs inside the property due to fire or other catastrophic event, they can use the master key to open the lock box, retrieve the keys found there, and then unlock the door without causing damage to the entry way.

Every minute counts when disaster strikes. Rapid entry can greatly reduce damage and subsequent recovery time.
