General Requirements

Knowledge of all City Subdivision Regulations.  Obtain by download or physical copy at City Hall.

  • If property requires rezoning, all rezoning requirements must be met first before proceeding with subdivision initialization process.

  • Present copy of property’s legal description to Rainsville City Hall.
  • Pay initialization fee to Rainsville City Hall.
  • City Hall to set date for review of preliminary plat by Planning Commission.
  • City to advertise in local paper for two (2) consecutive weeks prior to Planning Commission review of preliminary plat.
  • Three (3) copies of preliminary plat to be turned into City Hall before Planning Commission review date.

  • All items of Section 4-5-7, “Preliminary Plat Requirements” and all items of Section 4-5-8, “Construction Plans” of the Subdivision Regulations must be met prior to the Planning Commission review date of preliminary plat.
  • City Hall to set date for review of final plat by Planning Commission.

  • City to advertise in local paper for two (2) consecutive weeks prior to Planning Commission meeting to approve final plat.
  • Planning Commission meeting to approve final plat.

  • Upon Planning Commission approval of final plat, land development may begin.
